After spending days fighting fires, clearing brush, and performing arduous physical tasks, U.S. Forest Service (USFS) employees should return to a safe home base after work. But repeated inspections throughout Oregon over the past decade have found the opposite.

Earlier this month, OSHA cited the USFS for rampant and repeated workplace safety violations at two ranger districts in the vast Malheur National Forest, a 1.7 million-acre woodland.
