Real Estate Developer Settles with OSHA, Agrees to $700K Fine

A deal between OSHA and a real estate development company settles citations and fines that could have cost this employer millions. Find out what the business has promised to do. Maybe you should be doing the same.

In March 2014, OSHA cited a New York-based real estate development and management firm for dozens of violations after the developer exposed its own employees, as well as employees of 13 contractors, to lead and asbestos hazards during renovation and cleanup operations.

Said regional solicitor of labor Jeffrey Rogoff, “The terms of the settlement are stringent and comprehensive…. We are prepared to take appropriate action to escalate penalties should it fail to live up to its commitments.”
