The 2017 Hazard Communication Survey sponsored by VelocityEHS® and its MSDSonline solutions was launched in mid-June 2017, and by the time the survey closed about one month later, 449 environmental, health, and safety (EHS) professionals had shared their insights into how their organizations are currently meeting their hazard communication challenges.
With OSHA’s phased-in GHS deadlines now in effect and the Agency’s expressed intent to consider aligning HazCom with newer versions of GHS in the future, it’s valuable to understand both the successes and pain points associated with implementing GHS changes into businesses’ HazCom programs, including: the new labeling, safety data sheet (SDS), written plan, and training requirements.

We would like to extend our thanks to all of the professionals who chose to participate in the survey, and also a big thank you to our readers for their interest in making their workplaces safer for all employees.
