Fall Fitness Training

It’s late November and your employees may still be feeling sluggish after their Thanksgiving Day festivities! This may be the perfect time for wellness training to help your employees stay in shape as the days get shorter. Today’s Advisor gives you some fitness tips to pass along.

Point out to your workers that it’s easy to keep fitness commitments when the days are long and the sun shines strong, but some people find their passion fading with the shortening days. Don’t let it happen to you!

On the contrary, let the cool, crisp air and the absence of humidity motivate you to stay in shape. Here are some fun fall activities to help you keep fit:

Great news! BLR’s renowned Safety.BLR.com® website now has even more timesaving features. Take our no-cost site tour! Or better yet, try it at no cost or obligation for a full 2 weeks.

  • Pick pumpkins or apples. Go to an orchard, tromp around the fields, and pick your perfect produce.
  • Master a maze. Mazes cut in corn or other crops are becoming more popular. Find out if there’s a local maze and go conquer it.
  • Raise the stakes for raking the estate. Motivate family members to rake up the yard in record time with fun competition and rewards.
  • Get on the beach in the off-season. Enjoy the lower (or free) beach and parking rates to walk in the sand (good exercise) and enjoy the fresh air off the water.

Your one-stop safety management resource, available 24/7. Go here to take a no-cost site tour or here to try it in your own office!

Why It Matters

  • According to WebMD, fall is a better time to start a fitness program than the usual New Year’s resolution in January.
  • Fall weather is a treat for the senses, with crisp air, bright fall foliage, wood-smoke smells, and less intense sunlight, to name a few.
  • It’s a good idea to develop good fitness habits BEFORE the big holiday season approaches, so you can maintain at least some of them for the duration.
