OSHA Releases Tips on Preventing Workplace Heat Illness

As the U.S. continues to experience extreme heat conditions, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) this week released a pamphlet designed to help businesses learn about how to prevent heat illness.

The publication, Prevent Heat Illness at Work, is available in English and Spanish versions. It features information on ways to protect yourself and others from heat illness, with tips including drinking cool water, taking rest breaks, finding shade, and dressing appropriately. See excerpt below:

It also features a section on first aid and what signs to look for when a worker is suffering from heat illness, including abnormal thinking or behavior, slurred speech, seizures, and loss of consciousness. See excerpt below:
