New Resource Identifies Ways to Protect Employees on the Road

Motor vehicle crashes cost U.S. employers about $25 billion per year, affecting productivity, workers’ compensation and medical costs, liability, and reputation. Find out more about a newly launched resource to help keep your people safe on the road.

Business Pulse: Motor Vehicle Safety at Work (http://www.cdcfoundation.org/businesspulse/vehicle-safety) explores how the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) can help businesses protect employees who drive for work in the United States and abroad.

According to John Howard, director of CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), “For all kinds of companies, travel by road puts workers at high risk of work-related injury or death, both here in the United States and in other countries. Employers can manage these risks through commitment to road safety supported by strong policies.”

The site highlights the challenges and offers tools and solutions including statistics, an interactive infographic, and links to CDC programs that help employers prevent crashes and reduce injuries.
