Ergodyne Rises Up for National Safety Stand-Down 2020

Safety Stand Down

St. Paul, Minn. (Sept. 10, 2020) – With OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down occuring Sept. 14-18, Ergodyne released a statement emphasizing the importance of including dropped objects prevention in this annual event.

“Over 50,000 workers were injured by dropped and falling objects in 2018, roughly 6,000 more than the year before,” said Tim Gallant, Ergodyne Product Director. “To stop this rising injury rate, we need to continue to drive awareness, implement strategies and bring at-heights safety solutions to worksites across the industry.”

Throughout the week, Ergodyne is encouraging crews to facilitate toolbox talks, equipment inspections and discussions of job-specific hazards. To aid in this, the company has shared a variety of educational tools, including ready-made toolbox talks, prevention plan roadmaps and a host of other in-depth resources on the dropped object risk.

A focal point of Ergodyne’s Stand-Down communication is understanding ANSI/ISEA 121-2018—the industry’s first standard to designate design, testing, performance and labeling requirements for tool tethering systems and containers used for transporting and securing tools and equipment at heights. Ergodyne has launched an extensive line of ANSI/ISEA 121-approved solutions since the adoption of the standard in 2018.

“Bringing workers home safely is at the forefront of everything we do and, with injury rates still on the rise, it’s clear there’s plenty of work yet to be done,” said Tom Votel, Ergodyne President & CEO. “Participating in Safety Stand-Down is one way we can to continue to raise awareness of the dropped object risk, as well as educate the industry on the various solutions available for simplifying at-heights safety.”
