Notify Technology raises £1.5m to improve workplace safety with AI

A Newcastle-based Safety Tech company whose clients include McDonalds, Siemens and the NHS has raised a further £1.5m from Calculus Capital, the North East Venture Fund, supported by the European Regional Development Fund and managed by Mercia Ventures, and private investors.

This round of funding will fuel several key growth areas for Notify, including the development of AI powered safety solutions and the expansion of the company’s existing digital Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) capabilities to improve workplace safety.

Driving Proactive Safety Improvements with Technology

A core focus of this funding is advancing Notify’s AI-powered technology, which will give safety professionals instant access to critical safety data and insights, helping them proactively manage risks before they escalate. By leveraging AI in its existing cloud and app based SHEQ software, Notify is transforming safety management from a reactive process into a proactive one, ensuring that businesses can prevent accidents, rather than just respond to them.

Currently, the platform enables businesses to digitally record accidents and near misses, carry out audits and inspections, create and complete risk assessments, store and manage safety documents and analyse and act on safety data – from one central location.

Beyond technology, this investment will drive brand awareness and sales growth, allowing Notify to reach more businesses in need of intuitive, scalable, and easily deployable safety software.

Founded in 2017 by Duncan Davies and Andy Dumbell, Notify now employs 27 staff and recently moved into new offices in central Newcastle. The platform has been adopted by many high-profile names including Wickes, Travis Perkins and Menzies Distribution and has over 250,000 users worldwide.
