Bulk Gasoline Terminals (40 CFR 60.502)
Owners or operators must ensure that terminals’ and tank trucks’ vapor collection systems are connected during each loading of a gasoline tank truck at the affected facility. Examples of actions to accomplish this include training drivers in the hookup procedures and posting visible reminder signs at the affected loading racks.
Coke Oven Batteries (40 CFR 63.306)
For all coke plant operating personnel with responsibilities that impact emissions, including contractors, training in the job requirements related to emissions control and training in the requirements of 40 CFR 63 Subpart L, including work practice requirements.
Refresher training: A statement of the duration and frequency of refresher training must be included in the training program.
Trainer qualifications: Contractors with responsibilities that impact emissions control may be trained by the owner or operator or by qualified contractor personnel.

Electric Arc Furnace Steelmaking Area Sources (40 CFR 63.10685(a)(1) and 40 CFR 63.10685(b))
For plant personnel with materials acquisition or inspection duties related to the control of contaminants from scrap, training related to the pollution prevention plan is required.
For personnel involved in communicating the site-specific plan for mercury switches, training concerning communicating to suppliers throughout the scrap supply chain the need to promote the removal of mercury switches from end-of-life vehicles is required.
Halogenated Solvent Cleaning (40 CFR 63.463)
Operators of batch vapor and in-line solvent cleaning machines must be able to complete and pass the applicable sections of the test of solvent cleaning procedures in 40 CFR 63 Subpart T Appendix A if requested to do so during an EPA inspection.
Incineration: Commercial and Industrial Solid Waste Incinerators (CISWIs) (40 CFR 60.2070 to 60.2100)
No CISWI unit can be operated unless a fully trained and qualified CISWI unit operator is accessible, either at the facility or can be at the facility within 1 hour.
Operator training and qualification must be obtained through a state-approved program or by completing an incinerator operator training course that includes the requirements at 40 CFR 60.2070(c) for CISWIs for which construction commenced after June 4, 2010, or for which modification or reconstruction is commenced on or after August 7, 2013.
Refresher training: Annually through a refresher course that covers the requirements at 40 CFR 60.2085 for CISWIs for which construction commenced after June 4, 2010, or for which modification or reconstruction is commenced on or after August 7, 2013.
Incineration: Hazardous Waste Combustors (HWCs) (40 CFR 63.1206)
All HWC control room operators must be trained and certified under a state-approved program, an applicable Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standard, or by completing a site-specific training program developed by the source that includes the requirements at 40 CFR 63.1206(c)(6)(v).
Personnel whose activities may reasonably be expected to directly affect hazardous air pollutant emissions:
- Training of a technical level commensurate with the person’s job duties, as specified in the training manual. Personnel receiving training must pass an examination at the end of the training program.
Refresher training: Annually
Incineration: Medical Waste Incinerators (40 CFR 60.53c)
No HMIWI unit can be operated unless a fully trained and qualified HMIWI unit operator is accessible, either at the facility or can be at the facility within 1 hour.
Operator training and qualification must be obtained through a state-approved program or by completing an incinerator operator training course that includes the requirements at 40 CFR 60.53c(c).
Refresher training: Annually
Incineration: Municipal Waste Incinerators (40 CFR 60.54b and 40 CFR 60.1155 to 60.1180)
For large municipal waste combustors (>250 tons per day), training on the facility’s operating manual before assuming responsibilities for operators, shift supervisors, control room operators, ash handlers, maintenance personnel, and crane/load handlers is required.
All chief facility operators, shift supervisors, and control room operators must complete an EPA or state-approved municipal waste combustor operator training course.

Incineration: Other Solid Waste Incinerators (OSWI) (40 CFR 60.2905 to 60.2911)
An OSWI unit cannot be operated unless a fully trained and qualified OSWI unit operator is accessible, either at the facility or can be at the facility within 1 hour.
Operator training and qualification must be obtained through a state-approved program or by completing an incinerator operator training course that includes the requirements at 40 CFR 2905(c).
Refresher training: Annually
Incineration: Sewage Sludge Incinerators (SSIs) (40 CFR 60.4810 to 60.4840)
A SSI unit cannot be operated unless a fully trained and qualified SSI unit operator is accessible, either at the facility or can be at the facility within 1 hour.
Operator training and qualification must be obtained through a state-approved program or by completing an incinerator operating training course that includes the requirements at 40 CFR 60.4810(c).
