The EPA has launched a new Waters of the United States (WOTUS) website to provide information to the public about EPA’s review of the Clean Water Rule’s (CWR) controversial definition. This site replaces the website initially developed under the Obama administration’s 2015 rulemaking process.
The EPA has initiated consultation and coordination with stakeholders and the public as the EPA and the Department of the Army and the Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) implement the February 28, 2017, Presidential Executive Order (EO), Restoring the Rule of Law, Federalism, and Economic Growth by Reviewing the “Waters of the United States” Rule.
The new website is intended to provide the public with relevant information explaining the actions taken by the EPA and the Corps to review the WOTUS rule.
The WOTUS website includes:
- Information about the current implementation and the history of WOTUS
- Memoranda, guidance documents, and Supreme Court rulings related to WOTUS
- The current rulemaking process, the Federal Register notice of intention, and public comment period for the WOTUS definition
All pages, information, and documentation from the 2015 CWR website is available on the EPA archived site.
