EHS On Tap E224: The Importance of Mental Health Awareness at Work

Lynn Hennighausen, MS, is a National Trainer for Mental Health First Aid at Work, Adult Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Teen to Teen Mental Health First Aid, and a Master Trainer for Question-Persuade-Refer (QPR), a suicide prevention curriculum. She is an accomplished facilitator, community leader, and lifelong learner.

Mental Health First Aid at Work (MHFA at Work) is one of the Mental Health First Aid USA curriculums frequently facilitated by Hennighausen. MHFA at Work is an evidence-based curriculum that teaches employees how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges in the workplace.

Her extensive background in industry deeply informs the relevance with which she facilitates programming and conversation. A sample of the clients trained by Hennighausen in MHFA at Work include Kaiser Permanente, Bank of America, NAMI Corporation, Xylem Water Solutions, Southwest Carpenters Union, Cleveland Guardians, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners Baseball Organization, and the MLB Commissioner’s Office.

She co-founded WholeHealth Sport, which trains and supports coaches in creating cultures of mental wellbeing in sport.
