Dr. Andrew MacPherson is Clinical Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of British Columbia in Canada. Between shifts as a trauma and emergency attending physician in Victoria, B.C., he serves as an embedded physician within ski patrols in British Columbia. In 2019, Dr. MacPherson was named one of Canada’s Emergency Physicians of the Year by the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians.
As a long-time volunteer of the Canadian and American Red Cross, he has represented the two organizations at medical conferences around the world. Dr. MacPherson’s work on the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council helps ensure Red Cross first aid programs are in line with the latest science and accessible to national societies around the world.
