Question: What is the highest priority for AI use among EHS professionals?
Cook: This was a Verdantix global corporate survey for EHS budgets. This research was done last year. It showed that analyzing leading indicators to predict safety risks was by far and away the highest priority of the people surveyed. And by far and away the lowest priority was chat box for agent support. And I do wonder if that’s actually because people aren’t interested in it or they don’t understand what it is, or they don’t think it’s going to be useful, etc. There’s so much that we don’t fully understand about the research, but this gives a really interesting take on what is important to people. So a lot of people like the idea of automating climate compliance by populating reporting templates. A lot of people like the idea of cleaning and organizing EHS data, data cleansing and data integrity. It is very, very important, but it can be difficult getting the right resources to make sure that your data is clean. That is obviously all a high priority for people. It’s currently done, you know, as human tasks. So eliminating human error could be a really, really great thing for a lot of a lot of people. If you’re interested in this, I would highly encourage you to read the full survey by Verdantix. There’s an awful lot of really interesting things in terms of AI and tech included in that.
