The American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) filed suit on Monday in the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to thwart OSHA’s new regulation. Noted ARTBA president Pete Ruane, “The unintended consequence of the proposal is that it will actually expose road workers to greater risk by diverting resources away from other legitimate safety programs.”
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has also expressed strong opposition to the rule. According to NAM president and CEO Jay Timmons the trade group “will be working with Congress and exploring all options to prevent this rule and its devastating consequences from becoming a reality.”
